Recently games workshop has released several digital products. First amongst those, Is the Space Marine Codex.

The digital version of the space Marine Codex looks exactly like the textile print version of the Codex. The most noticeable difference in these background, and fluff sections is the ability to expand illustrations, and the addition of detailed force organization charts. They have elaborated upon the composition of the Second Company Ultramarine. The illustration, and the digital copy looks exactly as it appear in the print copy. However, it is broken down to reveal additional detailed plates depicting each of the squads as well as brief descriptions of that squad. In these plates you are now able to pick out the differences in the marks of armour as well as well as distinct differences in weapons and heraldry. In this section "Space Marine Power Armour" there are plates included for each of the eight different, and distinct marks of power armour starting with MRK. I Thunder armour, and ending with MRK. VII Errant pattern. For space Marine fluff bunnies, this is a very nice feature. Also there is a detailed plate including honor badges. In the section " Codex Chapters" , they have created individual plates depicting each of the in chapters that were included in the print copy. These plates are not the same order as their print copy counterparts, they are in alphabetical order. They have also included a few additional plates of chapters that did not appear in the original print version notably; the Death Strike chapter, the Emperor's Hands, and the Golden Griffins.

A notable exception between the new digital Codex in the original print copy is that the digital copy includes an expanded description of the space marine forces, which includes the addition of the Space Marine flyer the Storm Talon. Under the cut color plates for painted miniatures they have included several 360° rotatable pictures of various models, there also side plates with expandable pictures. In the “Army List” section they have included the updates for all six edition changes, and no the flak missile is not included.

I believe that the digital copy of the space Marine Codex is worth the $41.99. It is currently only available for the Apple iPad and cannot be viewed on an iPhone. For everybody complaining, get over it, man up, and be a consumer whore and buy the iPad. I did. While it is not necessarily to have a digital copy of the Codex it is a nice addition to your games workshop library. I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the digital copy and have found very little problems with. It should be noted that there is currently a debate whether or not the digital copy should be turned legal. The concerns that their unscrupulous, douche bags, who would hack, and edit the digital copy of this product to their own needs is a legitimate argument. However, it should be easy to figure out who's got a different Codex than everyone else. Any individual caught with a hacked copy should be bludgeoned with a dice bag full of dice repeatedly by everybody participating in the game or tournament.

I hope that this review has been helpful
